Concert Choir

THIS IS CONCERT CHOIR

The Concert Choir is Emory University's select chamber choir. The singers in the choir come from across the country and the globe. The Concert Choir has been selected to sing at both the Southern and National conventions of the American Choral Directors Association. They have given performances throughout the world including at Avery Fisher Hall in New York City, St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, the Berlinerdom in Berlin, Karmelitow Boysch Church in Krakow, St. Nicholas Church in Prague, and in Bobby Dodd Stadium at the Georgia Institute of Technology with the Rolling Stones!

The choir sings a wide variety of sacred and secular repertoire from the Middle Ages to the present, from chant to folk song. Recent performances have included the Mozart Requiem, the Ešenvalds Trinity Te Deum, Dove's Seek Him Who Maketh the Seven Stars, and Whitacre's Water Night.

The Concert Choir is open by audition to all students in the university. Undergraduates and graduate students from all disciplines are welcome - students need not be a music major. Interested members should have a good choral background, i.e. High School choir, Honors Choirs, All-State Chorus, and the ability to read music is essential. The ensemble rehearses Monday and Wednesday 4:00-6:00 PM in Emerson Concert Hall, Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts.
