FAQ

  • Dr. Nelson will ask you about your previous choral experience, vocalize you through your range, and ask you to sightread. Most singers have a strong choral background that includes high school choir and some honor choir or all-state choir participation.

  • This is optional. If you have one, it would be to your advantage to sing a prepared piece. It gives you an opportunity to show your musicality and phrasing. A classical piece is best, although a folk song is also acceptable. If you don't have a piece, not a problem.

  • No, Dr. Nelson will serve as your accompanist!

  • Emory Concert Choir rehearses on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4 to 6 PM.

University Chorus

University Chorus is Emory’s large mixed chorus. It is open to all students and community members. The choir most notably performs in the annual tradition Lessons & Carols!
